BOLTON VALLEY RESORT
Jan. 17 - Feb. 28 — WEDNESDAY NIGHT LIGHTS and the NIGHT RIDER SERIES is a weekly freestyle contest for skiers and riders of all ages. Every Wednesday night, competitors invade Bolton's fully lighted park to test their skills against an array of jumps, rails, and boxes — and each other. There are several age categories, as well as a separate category for women and skiers; the winners in each one walk home with sick prizes from sponsors like Burton, SoBe, SkiRack and Maven. But the best part about Night Rider is the atmosphere — chill air, chill music, and chill people make it feel much more like a fun session with friends than a hyped up contest.
Mar. 3 — THE FRIGID INFLICTION
Green Mountain Adventure Racing Association wants to get your adventure racing year started early with The Frigid Infliction — the Northeast’s first adventure race of 2007. Get away from the average winter crowds and put your cold-weather skills to a true test in some of the gnarliest terrain Vermont has to offer.
What: Navigation, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, post-holing, ropes work
Where: In and around Bolton Valley, on March 3
Who: Teams of 2 or 3, coed or single-sex
Cost: $240 for 2, $330 for 3 - $20 discount per GMARA member.

Feb. 26 to Mar. 3 — Jay Peak Mardi Gras Week. Guests will enjoy a taste of New Orleans for a week at Jay Peak.
Mar. 3 — 27th Annual George Syrovatka Downhill Race. Annual citizen's downhill race is open to all competitors feeling the need for speed.
Mar. 10 — Slopestyle Competion, skiers and riders hit jumps and rails to see who the best jibber is at Jay Peak.
Mar. 12 to 16 — Ontario Break: A fun-filled week long event that includes a welcome party with Mo the Clown, a puppet show, a magic show and fireworks
Mar. 17 — "Extreme Competition". What used to be called the "Glade and Chute Bash" will have a new name but will be the same crazy event held on The Face. We are looking for a new name for the event. Please email your event name suggestions to bkeet@jaypeakresort.com and if your name is picked you will have a free entry into the event, plus you will be the first competitor on the course.

Mar. 2, 3, 4 — Sports Illustrated Kids Next Snow SEARCH National Finals
The finals of the Next Snow SEARCH is the culmination of a nationwide search for the best skiers and riders ages 9-13 years old. Over 100 athletes will compete in on snow activities that include slopetstyle, carving, gates, superpipe and much more. This event is much more than just a competition; it is an all around on snow festival. There will be a sponsor village with music set up on the deck of the Bear Lodge and ice cave for the kids.
Don’t miss Saturday night's big air competition complete with laser show, torchlight parade, on snow cartoon show and fireworks. Saturday night's events start at 6 p.m.
Mar. 8 to 10 — Boarding For Breast Cancer Rail Jam – Riders Only. This weekend is dedicated to raising money and awareness to help fight breast cancer. All money raised will be split between Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) and the Rutland Regional Breast Care Center. Please join us for all the fun and help us meet our goal of raising $25,000 over the weekend. Rail Jam will be held on Saturday.
The venue will be set up at the base of Outer Limits and will be easily viewed from the deck while competitors battle it out.
Mar. 8 — Wobbly Barn Bachelor Auction: On Thursday, head to the Wobbly Barn Bachelor Auction and Silent Auction from 8 p.m. – 2 a.m. Killington’s most eligible and stylish men put themselves on the auction block and “strut their stuff� at The Wobbly Barn’s “Ultimate Girl’s Night Out!� Each dashing bachelor comes with an incredible “Dream Date,� which includes dinner at one of Killington’s finest restaurants and a special gift for the highest bidder. Doors open at 8:00 p.m. 21+ only. All proceeds will go to charity. For more details contact the Wobbly Barn at 802-422-6171.
Mar. 10 — Roxy Snowboard Camp: Killington will team up with Roxy to host the Roxy Snowboard Camp. The camp will consist of intermediate to advanced lessons for female snowboarders ages 13 and up. On-line registration is now open for this event. The camp is $140 (plus administrative fees) for the day and includes a full day of instruction, lift ticket, lunch and hot chocolate at end of day.
Mar. 18 — Tele Fling at Pico. Join Pico and Mountain Travelers Hike and Ski Shop for a day of telemark demos. This event will bring together top telemark ski and boot manufactures for a free demo. The demos are open to anyone with a lift ticket for the day or a valid season pass.

Mar. 22 to 25 — Sprint U.S. Freestyle Championships
More than 200 of the top freestyle and new school athletes from across the country will compete in moguls, aerials and the superpipe. The four-day event will kick off on Thursday with superpipe competition, followed by single moguls on March 23, aerials on March 24 and dual moguls on March 25. All events will take place at Bear Mountain with Outer Limits, the steepest, longest mogul run in the East, as the venue for both moguls and aerials. Aside from the athletic competition, live music and a product expo and festival will take place in and around the Bear Mountain Lodge.

MAD RIVER GLEN
Feb. 24 — Stark Mountain Day: The annual Stark Mountain Day build awareness for the Stark Mountain Foundation. There will be an open house at the Kent Thomas Nature Center and SMF volunteers will be on hand to explain the activities. There will be a Gala from 7 – 11 pm, held in the Basebox to celebrate and raise funds for the historic restoration of the Single Chair. Mar. 3 — 64th Annual Mad River Glen Family Tournament
Mad River founder, Roland Palmedo, began what was then called The Father/Son Race at Stowe with his colleagues in 1947. In 1952, the event moved to his new ski area, Mad River Glen. Over the next 5 decades the event evolved, and become far more politically correct, into the Mad River Glen Family Tournament. Today this event, Mad River’s most popular, goes far beyond the original Father/Son format. Categories include, Mother/Daughter, Mother/Father, Mother/Son, Father/Daughter, Grandmother/Grandson, Grandmother/Granddaughter, Grandfather/Grandson, Brother/Sister, Brother/Brother, Sister/Sister and of course the overall Family Winner. Registration 8:30-9:30, and competition at 10 am.

Mar. 2, 3 — Full Moon Snowshoe Trek. Enjoy the beauty and magic of the moonlight on snow, while exploring the nature of Stark Mountain! This easy to moderate outing at 7 pm includes hot chocolate.
Mar. 4 — J5 STUBBY SLALOM
Mar. 4 — Wildlife Tracking Trek. Explore the wild side of the Green Mountains in search of tracks and sign of Vermont's animals and birds, while learning about their ecology and habitat. Moderately difficult.
Mar. 10 — Black Bear Ramble. A great program for all ages and families! See signs of bear activity here at Stark Mountain, while learning about their winter hibernation, eating habits and basic ecology. Easy terrain, times are 10:30 am and 1:30 pm. For more info, www.madriverglen.com/naturalist/
March 10, 11 — 31st Annual North American Telemark Festival — the world's largest and oldest gathering of Telemark skiers. Special telemark tickets must be purchased to participate in festival events.

Feb. 24 — Black Magic Extreme Challenge. Presented by Vermont Snow Wizards and EMS. Come test your limits and show off your extreme skiing and riding skills. Competitors will ski or ride the most difficult terrain available at Magic and see who comes out on top. This will be held at Black Line to Lucifer (weather dependent), registration 8-10 am, competition starts at 12 pm
Feb. 24, 25 — “Feel the Magic.� Join us at the Snowsports learning center at either 10 am or 1 pm
for a FREE 2 hour Workshop Clinic, (some restrictions apply).
Feb. 25 — Share the Magic Sundays and Locals Sundays
Mar. 2 — Car Pool Fridays. Get your crew together and pack as many people as you can into the car. Every non-holiday Friday through the end of the season is Car Pool Fridays. Your entire car-load skis or rides for only $50.

MOUNT SNOW RESORT
Mar. 3 – 4 — 5th Annual Mardi Gras Celebration. Check out Mardi Gras, Mount Snow style, with a parade through the base area, skiing jesters, and many other fun things to do for all ages. You’ll also want to hit the Snow Barn for the Bud Light Concert Series Performance Saturday night.
Mar. 3 — USASA Slopestyle Event. USASA comes in and takes over the UN BLANCO GULCH terrain park for this sanctioned season finale.
Mar. 3 — Seasons Condos Homeowners Race. This fun season's homeowners only race will take place on Charlie's Chase in a fun Dual Slalom format.
Mar. 4 — 28th Annual Paul Holland Memorial Jack Jump Race @ Mount Snow. This annual Mount Snow race is an event calendar must! Featured in several Warren Miller ski movies, our Jack Jump racers are among the sport's elite. The race is run in a dual format and everyone walks away with something. Jack Jumps are built by hand, and consist of one ski and an elevated seat above the center of the ski. Half of the fun is checking out the designs for these ski/sled combos! NEW this year, competitors must also theme their outfits and/or Jack Jump in Mardi Gras purple, green, and gold!
Registration: 11 am - 12 at Main Base Lodge, trail location is Charlie's Chase.
Practice is at noon, race begins at 1 pm, awards and party at Snowbarn at 4 pm.

Mar. 4 — USASA Superpipe Competition. Check it out as the United States of America Snowboard Association Southern Vermont Series swings into Mount Snow for their final event of the season. All the action takes place at the Carinthia Base Area and in the Gut Superpipe. Registration will be in the basement of the Carinthia Base Lodge. The Gut will be closed all day for this competition.
Mar. 4 — Season Passholder Bring a Friend Day.
Mar. 11 — Mount Snow Freestyle Event-Grommet Jam #3...For the Little Guys.
DATE CHANGE: This event is truly custom built for the little skiers and riders. In our specially built Jiblet Park, this is one-part education and one-part competition. Our freestyle and snowboard coaches from the Alpine Training Center devote the morning to giving tips and guidance about the safe use of freestyle terrain, and polishing the children's technique. The afternoon is a laid back competition for kids ages 6-12 which is held in our Jiblet Park in front of the Grand Summit Hotel. Registration is held in the Main Base Lodge, next to Tony's Pizza from 8:30-9:30 am. The coaching session is held from 10 am -12, followed by a lunch break (not included). The competition begins at 1:30 pm. A valid lift ticket or season pass is required. A $10 cash bib deposit will be collected at registration. Entry fee: $35 cash.
Mar. 11 to 16 — Kid's Rule Adventure Week presented by Nickelodeon. SpongeBob SquarePants & Dora the Explorer will be at Mount Snow to participate in the activities during the week. A magic show, arts & crafts, movie night & a JellyFish Family Relay race are just some of the planned activities. Keep Wednesday night open as our youngsters take over the Snow Barn nightclub for a performance by THE DIRTY SOCK FUNTIME BAND.
Mar. 11 — Devo Program - Obstacle Course Race.
Mar. 17,18 — St. Patricks's Season Passholder Appreciation Weekend. We salute our most valued customers in a weekend long party. Passholders can look for some exclusive benefits this weekend including early morning First Tracks, lift line giveaways, a Season Passholder Party and much, much more.
Mar. 17 — ATC/Development Program Parent/Child Race. Come out and watch as the parents take on their kids! This is our last weekend of the season for the Development program, and we end it with this exciting and fun race on Charlie's Chase.
Mar. 18 — Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge. Mountain Dew rolls into town for the last stop before the finals on the Vertical Challenge Tour. The Dew comes to town with a FREE dual-slalom race for skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities. They've got truckloads of prizes up for grabs, as well as an invite to the finals for the winners.
Mar. 18 — ATC/Development Program End of Season Ice Cream Party. Coaches will be there to give out awards to the kids, and of course, eat plenty of ice cream! The party begins at 12 pm at the Grand Summit Hotel Ballroom.
Mar. 24 — 75th Annual Sink or Skim. Skiers, snowboarders, and even kayakers (not really) do their best to navigate the 100' pond "THE BOG," at the base of Standard. This is by far the funniest event of the season and not to be missed. Enjoy the music of the Bud Light Reggaefest! Due to the popularity of this event, registration will be limited to the first 100 entries. Costumes are required! Registration: 11am in the Gallery. Skimming will commence at 12 noon.
Mar. 24, 25 — Bud Light Reggaefest. It’s our annual celebration of the island music. Join us for two days and two nights full of the music that takes you into bliss. The Snow Barn and Cuzzins Deck are where you’ll find concert performances Friday night, Saturday, Saturday night, and Sunday afternoon. Of course island drink and food to compliment.
Mar. 25 — Dummy Downhill. Mount Snow departments and guests go head-to-head in this unique big air bash. Contestants aren’t living, rather creations of the mind. Dummies are sent down our big air site in a truly dumb competition. Dummies are judged on creativity, airtime, and if they stay in one piece. No explosives please.

OKEMO MOUNTAIN RESORT
Feb. 24 — Wine and Cheese Reception at the Jackson Gore Real Estate Showroom. Plus enter to win the Free Pair of Skis Contest.
Feb. 24 — Okemo Freeride Series Superpipe. A SoBe Superpipe Competition open to skiers and snowboarders of all ages. Registration 8 to 9:15 am in the Okemo Base Lodge Mezzanine. Event starts at 10:30 am in the SoBe Superpipe. Entry fee is $20. Prizes and awards provided by the Series sponsors SoBe, ScottUSA, Dakine, Obermeyer, Salomon, Atomic Snowboards, Level Gloves, and Mountain Dew.
Feb. 24 — Southern VT Slopestyle Competition
Feb. 24 — Laugh Out Loud Comedy Night, co-sponsored by Vermont Properties & Development. Get ready for an evening of fun and laughter. Doors open at 7:15 pm and the shows at 8:30 pm. The show is open to those 21 and over.
Feb. 25 — Southern VT Halfpipe Competition
Feb. 26 — Dinner With Class. Join Okemo owner Diane Mueller for an early evening of friends, great food, and fun! The class is open to the first nine people to register. Chef Craig Cornell will be showcasing his cooking skills and teaching how to prepare a restaurant style entree that you can take the recipe card and prepare at home! The class runs 2-hours from 5-7 pm, followed by a 4- course dinner of your efforts! Family and friends can also join you for dinner for a nominal charge.

Mar. 1 — HS Snowboard in the Halfpipe and 1st HS Snowboard Half-pipe.
Mar. 2 to 4 — The Chevrolet Revolution Tour is back for the 2006-2007 season with more sponsors and more prizes. The tour will include a halfpipe, slopestyle and snowboardcross competitions. The Chevrolet Revolution Tour is open to all riders 13 and older for Halfpipe and Slopestyle events and 15 and older for Snowboardercross events. Mar. 16 to 18 — Fischer Super Slopestyle. New this year, the Fischer Super Slopestyle by Fischer, Okemo, and Freeskier will host the East’s first Super slopestyle. Everything is slated to be BIG: big rails, big jumps and a big wall ride — all followed up by a big party at night featuring Swollen Members. $10,000 in cash and prizes. Mar. 3 — The Second Annual Black and Blue Bash! Come join the Stratton Foundation for their second annual "Black and Blue Bash" in the West Wing of the Base Lodge from 7-11 p.m. for dinner and dancing to Don Scanlan's Rhythm Boys.

Mar. 3, 4 — The Stratton Challenge. Presented by the Stratton Foundation, teams of four raise money to compete in a fun-filled weekend that includes two snowshoe competitions, an all-mountain scavenger hunt and a GS race.
Mar. 10 to 13 — J3 Junior Olympics, the best in class compete on Stratton's slopes.
Mar. 12 to 18 — The 25th US Open Snowboarding Championships. The 25th US Open Snowboarding Championships will grace the slopes of Stratton Mountain. This milestone event will bring over 24,000 spectators and the world’s top riders to Southern Vermont’s highest mountain.
Mar. 19 to 21 — Ross Powers Camp, join Gold Medalist and Stratton local, Ross Powers and his friends, when the 2007 Ross Powers Snowboard Camp returns to Stratton's slopes.
Mar. 21 to 25 — Vermont Freeskiing Open. Stratton's fourth annual event for freeskiers with over $27,000 in prize money. Over 200 top athletes compete for cash and trophies in this top-notch East Coast event.
Mar. 31 — Soap Box Derby. Register your team and build your own cardboard sled to race down the hill! Prizes for both function and style.

Stop by the gazebo in the Village to sample an array of Vermont goodies such as: Vermont maple syrup, Cabot Cheddar Cheese, Westminster crackers, Northeast Kingdom Mustards, sugar on snow, Nutty Steph's Vermont Granola and Vermints. Cabot Cheese Sampling-Stop by the gazebo at the base of Morse Mountain from 2 pm - 4 pm and sample some of Vermont's finest Cheese.

STOWE MOUNTAIN RESORT
Feb. 24 — MMSC Mogul Challenge. This annual freestyle event takes place on Slalom Hill at Spruce. After a week of developing and molding the bumps course, all ages and disciplines will compete to qualify for the Eastern Regionals. This event is a USSA sanctioned event and competitors must be members of the USSA or Eastfree. Come out for the show and cheer on your favorite competitor. Feb. 25 — Stowe Derby. This is one of the country’s oldest combination downhill / cross-country skiing events. International competitors, amateurs, and children race over 10 miles from the top of Mount Mansfield to the village of Stowe. Pre-registration is required. Mar. 5 — Women in Motion Clinic 3. A clinic designed specifically for women and taught by women of the Stowe Mountain Resort Ski and Snowboard School. The program teaches "The fundamentals of Skiing and riding," and skills to make you a better all-mountain athlete. The program is designed for intermediate and expert skiers & riders only. Mar. 14 — Torchlight Parade and Fireworks. Experience the magic as Stowe Mountain Resort comes alive with a spectacle of light. The lights go down at 7 pm and the entertainers take stage on Gondolier trail. Make sure to keep your eyes open and your head up, because after the parade, the show continues in the sky. Meet us at Midway Lodge for the best seat on the mountain!
Mar. 23 — Slopestyle Series Two. This is your second chance to shine at Stowe. Whether you're a local or a visitor, all are welcome. The event is open to male and female amateur skiers, riders and telemarkers of all ages. The event is a two run, freestyle format through Tyro Large Terrain Park. Competitors placing in their category will take home some awesome prizes. Registration from 8am-10pm in the Den at Mansfield.
Mar. 24 — Spring Summit Celebration Part I. Start peeling the layers. Lose the hat and don't forget the SPF. It's all about the barbeques, beers, and bands. Stowe's annual Spriing Summit Celebration is so big, it takes several weeks to fit it all in. Lots of great events, contests, deals, entertainment and fun are in store. Check back for details on the 06/07 line-up.
Mar. 25 — MMSP Bumps Contest. Mt. Mansfield Ski Patrol Bumps Contest will test your skill in speed, style and technical moves in the bumps. Location to be determined, but you can bet on a classic Stowe challenge. This event is open to skier, riders, and telemarkers of all ages. If you’re not participating, come join the crowd to cheer on the bumpers and bruisers this event will bring! All proceeds go to the Vermont Children’s Trust Foundation.
