STRATTON MOUNTAIN — Among the highlights from the New Year’s weekend at Stratton Mountain Resort was watching 2006 Olympic silver medalist and 2010 Olympic hopeful Lindsey Jacobellis tackle the boardercross course on East Byrneside.
Jacobellis took the time for a little Q and A while riding the American Express lift, transcribed here.
Q: What is it like being home?
A: It’s great coming home for the holidays and being at Stratton and on top of that it’s snowing. We get a little bit of freshies every day which makes it great for the mountain and makes it a very promising January.
Q: What’s the boardercross course like?
A: The course is pretty fun. It’s pretty fast and there is a nice little double in it. And I think it is a really great training experience for any youngster that wants to jump in there because we need that young exposure and for little kids to really get stoked on the course so it’s good that we have one at Stratton.
